Cosmic Cow Pie: Connecting the Dots

Turn a Yelp Into a Roar!

As a real estate professional, you want to show prospective clients that you know your stuff.  That means keeping up to date with local real estate trends, the latest internet marketing strategies for listings and so forth.  To showcase how well you know the area you cater to, turn a Yelp into a Roar!

Yelp is a fantastic website that caters to the small business person on a community level.  Facebook and Twitter are still great places to continue marketing yourself on a much grander scale.  But, Yelp brings it back down to the local level.  This website allows its users to post reviews and ratings for local businesses they visit.  For REALTORS®, this means you can show what you like about specific stores, restaurants, boutiques, coffee shops, etc you patronize, adding tips to what other visitors can expect or ways to enhance their experience while at a specific business.  Like Foursquare, you can also check in via your mobile smart phone.

Second Self Virtual Assistance's Yelp Profile

Yelp has one major difference that Facebook, Twitter and Foursquare don't offer...a Community Manager.  Most of the major cities on Yelp have an actual employee that checks on the reviews posted, rewards contributing Yelpers and watches over their community.  The Community Manager's job is to encourage interaction and reward helpful content.  In fact, many Yelpers have even followed the Tweetup Meetup scenario by getting together to meet, chat and exchange ideas on a monthly and even weekly basis with their local Community Manager in some cities.

By adding a review of your local coffee shop, printer, cleaning service, book store, etc, you will show your real estate clients that you are an active, participating member of the communities you serve.  With the mobile check-in, your clients can see where you are whenever you want them to.  Adding your real estate business info/profile is absolutely free and only takes a few moments.  Anytime someone leaves a review or comment on your profile, all you have to do is login to your account and send them a quick thank you for taking the time to acknowledge you.  That simple interaction is an invaluable way to keep your positive image in your clients minds and show prospective clients that you value those you work with.

Show off your smarts about your local communities to both current and prospective real estate clients by signing up for a free account, begin posting reviews and really start to interact with others in your area.  Turn a Yelp into a Roar!  Let Yelp help you become a howling success in your real estate business!

Yelp is a great tool, Pamela.  I agree - adding reviews to your Yelp page shows you are involved in your community!

Pamela...what a great find and thanks for posting this.  I did bookmark this post as am having a fight with AT&T. Will try tomorrow to actually click on the site.  You have a great Friday & weekend.

Hi Deb - It's certainly a fact that buyers are looking for someone who knows the area they want to move into.  Thanks for your response.

Hi Brian - If you spent all day on the internet, we'd have to give you a new title - Virtual Assistant!  :o)

I do have a Yelp account Pamela, the problem in my area though is that it hasn't caught on here yet, and there's not enough participants. when it does though, I'll be ahead of the game.

WOW! That's awesome, Endre.  Not every service and/or product that I highlight in my blogs is useful to everyone.  So glad this one worked out for you.
