Cosmic Cow Pie: Connecting the Dots

Facebook Marketplace

Oodle has decided to harness the marketing energy of social media by creating it's Facebook Marketplace, where real estate professionals as well as vendors of all sorts can showcase their wares for their online community.  There are more than 15 million monthly users that have signed up for Oodle Marketplace and Facebook Marketplace.  Don't you think it's time you showcase your listings on Facebook?

Facebook Marketplace allows Realtors to create professional listings to showcase on Facebook.

Create a listing ad - All you have to do is to login to your Facebook account and go to the Facebook Marketplace app.  Click on the Post a Listing button at the upper right hand corner of the page, follow the easy steps and the ad will automatically be generated and activated.  You can add photos, a description and even post it to your wall if you'd like.

Create a Listings tab on your profile - After you have created your listing ads, you can create a Listings tab on your profile by clicking on the "+" tab at the top of your profile.  If you decide to be a Marketplace Pro, you can add this tab to your professional Facebook page.  All your listings will then be visible when visitors click on the Listings tab.

Add a Marketplace Bookmark to your Facebook home page - If you want to bookmark Facebook Marketplace for easy reference, all you have to do after you are logged into your Facebook account is to go to the Marketplace, click on the "Add Bookmark" button (located near the "Search" button) and follow the steps.  It will then be added to your apps section on your home page.

It is just as easy to remove the Facebook Marketplace tab and listings if you want to in the future.  Using Facebook Marketplace to promote your real estate listings is just one more way to harness the energy of social media to your advantage in your real estate business.  Let me know if we at Second Self Virtual Assistance can help you with any of this.  We're always here for you.

Great information * I've been using my postlet html on my Facebook and I'm super glad to have found other ways to get rental listings OUT into social media.  Thank you!!!

Pamela...how ironic, I just commented on Steve & Joel's blog about the increase of seniors on social media. Explained why I / we don't have a facebook whatever; now here you go and post a method of getting info on listings up and running.  Will have to decide IF a Facebook option is another way we OLD Folks should now go.
Will bookmark this post to read again once a decision is made. [Really had a bad experience on FB earlier or
before discovering AR ]

Hi Wallace - We use Postlets, too, as part of our listing syndication and promotion program.  Let me know how you like Facebook Marketplace.

Hi Barb and Sal - Facebook has so many opportunities to promote yourself and your business.  Here's an example of one of the many business pages we've created for REALTORS(R).

Hi Anna - I was really surprised how many agents didn't know about this.  That's why we share, right?  ;)

Pamela - Thanks for the tips.  I usually put a link to my AR post on my Facebook wall.  Great to know there's another way.

Hi Lanre - Everyone is one Facebook.  So, it makes sense to advertise there.  Let me know what kind of response you get from your ad.

Hi Rosalinda - Adding a link to your AR post is good idea.  Having Facebook business pages with tabs to your listings, community information, lead capture, etc. is also an awesome opportunity for exposure.

Quick question - I am trying to post listings to FB Marketplace and it says I have to upgrade to Oodle Pro to post more than 1 listing. Is this correct?

Hi Dee - Yes, FB Marketplace allows you to post one listing for free.  It's like so many other companies that allow you use an abbreviated version of their program/service but if you want the whole enchilada, you're gonna have to pay.  It's a great way to test everything out to see how well it works and  if you can stay with the freebie or need to move up to the paid version.  Hope this helps.  Enjoy your day!

Hi Pamela,

If I use Postlets, and postlets posts to oodle, would my listing show up in Facebook market?

Thank you,

Arpad

Hi Arpad - Good question.  I work with agents who have Oodle Pro and when I add a new listing, I am given the option of posting to Facebook Marketplace.  I don't know if this is jut available on the pro version or part of the regular version.  I'd suggest going into your Oodle account and see if this option comes up.  I'd really like to know the answer, please.
