Keeping the World Green - Why not Wilton, CT?

Is recycling a message you want to help send to make the world a better place?

Dagny Eason Wilton of Fairfield County Real Estate is showing us the way!

Thank you Dagny for the great green/blue post to help  us remember how we can make a difference!

Keeping the World Green (or Blue - Tahoe)       is such an important concept.   There are so many areas of this country that still do not recycle, and then there are areas that  are so thoroughly into it, that they have hardly produce any garbage at all.    Why not Wilton, CT

In the San Francisco area, they recycle everything - even your grass clippings!   Just about the only things not recycled are the table scraps from your table.   If you have a dog that you feed those to, you are just about nil on your garbage.  They proudly recycle paper, magazines, bottles - glass and otherwise, cans, all trimmings from the yard, cardboard, styrofoam,  - did I miss something?    Why not Wilton, CT?

In Los Angeles, I have found the same thing.    Everything is recycled that can be recycled.  There are recycle
cans everywhere - all over town.  There is no excuse for not doing it.   Why not Wilton, CT?

In Alaska, everyone is extremely conscious about the environment and leaving no trace.   If you take a kayak trip in Seward, out into the fjords, you will bring back all - I mean all - of your waste - even human waste.   This is extreme recycling.  This is to keep the bears in a clean environment so they do not attack humans for their food.  So far, it is good.   Everywhere you go in Alaska, the areas are spotless.

Recently, we were vacationing in the Lake Tahoe area.   We rented a boat and went out on the lake with two of our grown kids for the day.   Lake Tahoe area is also very green conscious  - oops!   there it was BLUE conscious.  Keep Tahoe BLUE signs are everywhere!   My husband wanted to drop a dime into the water to see how far he could see it sinking.   My son went crazy - you will not trash up our environment, Dad!   My husband could not believe that a dime would trash up the environment.     Why not Wilton, CT?

I think this is a perfect example of the difference between the generations on recycling.   The youngest have been taught since day one, and it is instilled into them so deeply.     It is so awesome!

In Wilton, CT, we have been recycling most of our consumption things.   We recycle newspapers, glass, plastics, metals, etc    We even recycle styrofoam!    But we do not recycle paper and magazines.   I do not understand.   With the masses of paper being used in the country, are there still areas like ours that do not recycle paper?    If we recycled paper and magazines in Wilton, CT, we would hardly leave a trace, like San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Alaska!

Time to wake up CT!

Carra, I am still a work in progress regarding being as green as I could be.

Thanks Carra for reblogging!   Hopefully, we are all a work in progress, and can make our footprint on this planet smaller and smaller - That's what it's all about, right?

Carra....recycling has been done in our household before it became the 'in thing to do'; We found it worthwhile since we had 6 pets living with us at any time in over 28 yrs--pets who did have many, many food cans.
It is interesting that the author mentioned the son-who-freaked-out, he must be over 18 yrs old or we need to rent him to come to our place in the sun & teach some young-lings to recycle their trash IN the containers at home rather in the local streets.
