Think Social Media is a waste of time? Watch This
So what do you think?
Cosmic Cow Pie
I've seen this before but it is a needed reminder that the time we spend on social media is time well "invested". A great video for all business people (and that's what we all are) to watch and remember.
Eye-opening numbers from Dell and Ford. We're just scratching the surface of what social media can really do. It's going to be a lot of fun learning how to "Play to Play!"
For someone who completed Business Admin in the 70's, this whole social media thing has been quite a leap, but with no regrets.
Stepping out of my conservative skin and re-learning from Gen Y's (and X's) has been exhilerating. It's also given me a respect of our youth and a heightened optimism for the future.
It's one step at a time for me though. Great video Carra; thanks.
The video shows that social media has changed our lives and how we get information has changed forever.
Richard ~ It really is an investment.. and what is more valuable than your time?
John ~ I think it is all about an attitude.. knowing who you are and what your message is.. once that is identified then you just jump in a play.. takes awhile to figure that out.. and to understand that some people might not like what you say.. but with 1.6 billion players.. that is OK!
Don ~ Videos really speak louder than words.
John ~ Learning from the younger generation is really fun!
Cindy ~ You have summed up the change VERY well.. thank you!
Carra...What a great Video; it appears that I [we] may be the "Canary in the Coal Mine" as I Tweet, well I more than likely qualify as a "Half-twit", but at least I do have that SM. Trula gets ahead of me at times, Linked-in was set up for Sal, but since I am now working only in the media-tech [LOL LOL] area of our Business I will take it over. Based on an earlier not so good experience on FB, am still squeamish about that. I tried 3 times to set you as an associate, but it doesn't seem to be taking yet--checked today. And did click on "subscribe to this blog' button. We are having AT& T 'situations' here, but it should not take over 6 days to set these items up. Was very chagrined today to see that I could not find your lovely face among my "Subscribed" and to discover that when I click on add as associate; all the typed info is right there, but will go no further. Monday, June 7th AT&T is estalishing it's new Bundle-Data-program, so all this mess may be over.Hope that you have a great weekend.Barb
Barb ~ Sounds like you have a situation going on there.. If you can't get it going after your AT&T repair.. then check with activerbob or Jeramy.. They can fix it quickly! All the SM takes time.. but once you get the hang of it.. won't be so much time. Deep breaths.. we are all on the same path :)
Social media is not only not a waste of time, it saves time, done properly. And it's a money maker and a half.
Candice ~ You would know as you have been successful at using it for a long time. Thanks for sharing.
I have seen this before. The numbers are just staggering.
Great! In the olden days, we sunk money (dollar after dollar) into advertising that didn't work. Now comes social media, and it's NOT that expensive . . . the trade of is time. It can take a lot of time to develop, implement, and stay on top of. But since time is money, it's a wash, and I'd rather be investing time.
Myrl ~ Real Estate as a career is certainly an investment.. in many things!
Debra ~ Huge numbers!
Carla ~ Print media was dead for along time.. I just don't think agents thought about the returns and did it to satisfy a seller instead of looking for the right return in the form of a buyer or a seller.
The 2008 presidential election taught me what social media can really do. I came back to ActiveRain on a serious basis on July 22, 2008.
