Unlike chocolate, blogs last forever on the internet. I recently received a comment on a post from March 2009, shortly after starting here in the Rain. When I saw the "comment on your blog" notice, I didn't recognize the title of the blog post it was referring to. So, I clicked on the link and, lo and behold, it took me back in time to March 2009. In fact, the post that received the comment was a reblog of another post here in the Rain on widgets. Very interesting. So, whey did this person choose this particular post to comment on? I'm not sure. Maybe they were doing a search for "widgets" and my blog popped up. Maybe they were wanting to see what other virtual assistants wrote about here (the commenter is a virtual assistant). And, maybe they just took a stab in the dark and I was what stuck. Who knows! What I AM sure about is that I need to be very aware of what I decide to put out there to webiverse since blogs will stick around alot longer than any chocolate will. At least in my house!

Heather: That's actually really cool- thank you for sharing. It's nice to know that our posts can give us that kind of posterity!
Thanks, David. Make sure when you write your blog posts that it is something you are comfortable living with for months, if not years, to come.
Heather--I have been posting on ActiveRain and my other blogs for over three years now and still get comments and questions on some of my very early posts. It is the best type of marketing as it lasts a very long time!
That's for sure, Teri. You've discovered the secret to the Rain, haven't you? Way to go!
What do you mean chocolate doesn't last forever? I've got it here with me at all times, and it is following me everywhere I go!
Heather,
Yes, I figured that out too. If you want to take something back, it's gone you really can't.

Yup - chocolate, especially good dark chocolate will be gone in a flash unlike everything we wrote! Very good idea for folks to remember this when they 'put' something out there. Now if only the teens would figure this out!
Heather,
Be very careful what you put out there; it could bite you on the ass.
Heather.....Disappearing chocolate problem, huh? LOL. I agree that thinking about blogs you are putting up is very important. Once the milk is out of the bottle, it's out of the bottle. Good reminder.
I have the same problem with chocolate. In fact, I'm running pretty low right now.
